Please note: International students who do not meet entry requirements for the Graduate Diploma of Psychological Science may be offered a Graduate Certificate of Psychological Science as a pathway into the Graduate Diploma of Psychological Science. Additionally, the Graduate Certificate of Psychological Science is only offered as a pathway program into the Graduate Diploma of Psychological Science and is only available on-campus in Melbourne in Sydney.

Domestic students seeking entry into the Master of Social Work (Qualifying) upon completion of the Graduate Certificate of Human Services must meet one of the following requirements:

• Completed a Bachelor degree with at least 4 cognate units (for example in social sciences, psychology, community and welfare work, nursing, allied health, counselling), or
• Completed a Bachelor degree with evidence of at least six months of full-time study in social sciences, or equivalent

Additional requirements:

• Write a 500-word statement outlining your interest in studying social work

Domestic students who do NOT seek entry into the Master of Social Work (Qualifying) must:

• Write a 500-word statement outlining your interest in studying social work; and
• Completed a Bachelor degree

Students undertaking the Graduate Certificate of Human Services may transition to a higher qualification in Social Work, such as the Master of Social Work (Qualifying).

International entry requirements

• Completed a Bachelor degree with at least 4 cognate units (for example in social sciences, psychology, community and welfare work, nursing, allied health, counselling), or

• Have successfully completed an undergraduate degree in a cognate field of study (counselling, psychotherapy, psychology, social work, pastoral care, social welfare, mental health or palliative care nursing, medicine, occupational therapy); and
• Complete an Inherent Requirements Checklist and Personal Statement; and
• Provide contact information for two (2) referees (professional within a helping profession) who can comment on your suitability to enter into counselling. Referees will be required to complete reference report on your behalf.

It is a condition of progression in this course that students complete a national police record check in their first trimester of enrolment.

• Completed a Bachelor degree in any field from an accredited institute of higher education; or
• Successfully completed ACAP's Graduate Certificate of Counselling; and
• Completed an Inherent Requirements Checklist and Personal Statement; and
• Provide contact information for two (2) referees (professional or personal) who can comment on your suitability to enter counselling.

It is a condition of this course that students complete a National Criminal History Record check prior to enrolment into the second unit of study.
