• International students must be 18 years of age or older at the time of course commencement. Domestic students must turn 18 by the end of their first semester of training.
• Must have completed Australian Year 12 or equivalent level of schooling overseas or AQF 3 or higher qualification.
• Must be able to exhibit competency at Exit Level 3 from the BKSB LLN assessment.
• Applicants are also required to provide evidence of the following prior to being eligible for participating in the Professional Experience Placement.
  • National Police Clearance.
  • Working with Children Check
  • Immunisation record that meets immunisation requirements for nurses, as stipulated by the Western Australian Department of Health at time of enrolment.
  • All applicants must also meet the NMBA's English Language Registration Standard requirements.
    • Primary Language Pathway - you need to provide either.
      • a declaration to declare English as your primary language OR
      • English Language Test Pathway - Test result reports of the following test taken within 2 years of your application.
        • IELTS Academic Module 7.0 with no band less than 7.0
        • PTE Academic - minimum score of 65 across all categories and overall.
        • OET - minimum score of B in each component.
        • TOEFL iBT - minimum total score of 94 with minimum scores as follows - listening 24, reading 24, writing 27 and speaking 23.

• Minimum 18 years of age
• Completion of Year 11 or high school or equivalent
• Have a passion to work in hospitality industry
• Have a minimum English proficiency of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
• Must complete Certificate III and Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery

Applicants who have recently completed their secondary education and meet the following criteria can apply for entry into this program.

Admission Criteria

Evidence of successful completion of a Senior Secondary Certificate of Education to Year 12 or equivalent*, including Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or 20 in any other English and an ATAR of 65.

*This includes all Commonwealth, State and Territory final year secondary school certificates of education as well as an International Baccalaureate (IB).

Students who have completed their secondary education overseas, which are equivalent to an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education, will be assessed for their suitability for the program on a case-by-case basis.

1. Applicants with Vocational Education and Training (VET/TAFE) Study

Applicants with previous VET study who meet the following criteria can apply for entry into this program.

Admission Criteria

Full or partial completion of an Australian Advanced Diploma or Diploma (or equivalent) in any discipline.

OR:

Full completion of a Certificate IV in a related discipline.

1. Applicants with Higher Education Study

Applicants whose highest level of study since leaving secondary education is a higher education course and who meet the following criteria can apply for entry into this program.

Full or partial completion of an Australian Higher Education award (or equivalent).

OR:

Completion of two units of Higher Education studies.

OR:

Completion of a bridging or enabling course, for example, Foundation course or equivalent.

1. Applicants with Work & Life Experience

Applicants who have left secondary school more than three years ago and who have not undertaken VET or higher education study since then can also apply for entry based on other evidence of academic capability judged to be equivalent, for example relevant work or life experience.

Five years (minimum) work/life experience in Construction Management or similar.

OR:

Applicants that completed an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate more than two years ago.

PLUS:

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or 20 in any other English (or equivalent).

*Special Admission

Applicants who fall under the following categories can discuss their admission and course options with the admission team prior to applying. Each application will be assessed on its merits and the applicant's capacity to successfully complete the course will be carefully considered in this assessment. The categories include, recognition as an Indigenous Australian, applicants whose school or home location is in rural or isolated areas, applicants with non-English speaking background, applicants with difficult living circumstances that have impacted their preparation for post-secondary study, applicants with disadvantaged financial background and applicants with disability or medical condition affecting their education.

The following criteria apply to students seeking admission to the Professional Doctorate program:

• The Pro Vice Chancellor-Research, on the advice of the Dean of the School, determines admission to the Doctor of Education Award.
• Applicants to the Doctor of Education Award are expected to satisfy the following criteria:
  • Possession of a research Masters degree by thesis or dissertation appropriate to the professional field of the applicant; or
  • Possession of a Masters degree by coursework appropriate to the professional field of the applicant completed at a superior standard; or
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree with Honours (typically 1st Class or Class 2A Honours level or equivalent); or
  • Possession of a Master of Philosophy; or
  • In exceptional circumstances, an equivalent academic or professional background that is considered by the Dean of the School to be an appropriate preparation for independent study and research work at Doctoral level.
• An applicant may be required to satisfy the Dean of the School of the ability to understand and communicate in both written and spoken English at a level adequate for the purpose of pursuing the program of study.
• In addition to the academic criteria listed above, applicants are normally expected to satisfy the following:
  • have a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional practice;
  • have the support of an industry or professional mentor.

You may be required to demonstrate an ability to understand and communicate in both written and spoken English at a level adequate for the purpose of pursuing the program of study.

The following entry requirements apply to this program:

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or provisional registration, whichever is applicable at the time of commencement
• Nursing or other appropriate degree or the equivalent
• Minimum of one year relevant post registration nursing experience
• Candidates must be employed with a participating health service provider and have their hospital's support to undertake the program.

• An Australian bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification, including an overseas qualification),
• An Australian graduate certificate or graduate diploma in business, or
• Completion of IMC's Postgraduate Preparation Program

Admission requirements you'll need to meet for this course.

• The following course-specific admission requirements are mandatory and must be satisfied by all applicants. These requirements are in addition to or supersede the minimum requirements outlined within the Academic admission requirements band section below.

  Special entry may be considered for students with a cognate first degree (or with appropriate experience) who can apply for a reduced course duration:
  
  1.5 years full time (3 years part time) - 180 credit points
  
  Admission is based on:
  
  Bachelor degree in a related discipline*, or
  Bachelor degree in any discipline, plus five years relevant work experience^, or
  Graduate Certificate of Computer Science (or equivalent), or
  Evidence of academic capability judged to be equivalent.
  
  *Related discipline refers to any computing/ICT-related discipline
  ^Relevant work experience constitutes Senior/Managerial positions to be approved by the Course Coordinator.

  Academic admission requirements (Band 6) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • Bachelor degree; or
  • Equivalent prior learning including at least five years relevant professional experience.

• English competency requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0);
  • Bachelor degree from a country specified on the English Proficiency Bands page;
  • Successfully completed 0.375 EFTSL of study at postgraduate level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent);
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience; or
  • Other tests, courses or programs defined on the English Proficiency Bands page.

• Completion of an automotive mechanical Certificate III qualification or evidence of equivalent competency

• Must be 18 years old or above

• Completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent

• IELTS Score of 5.5 or equivalent (Not Applicable for Australian Residents)
