  All applicants are required to have a 4th year qualification in an accredited course in psychology, with equivalents considered, to submit a CV, a covering letter and two references (submitted independently of the students application) to meet the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accreditation requirements. Applicants with qualifications obtained overseas must provide evidence that their psychology qualification has been assessed by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) as equivalent to an APAC-accredited Level 2 qualification in psychology.

  Short-listed candidates will participate in a selection interview, either face-to-face or via teleconference.

  Academic admission requirements (Band 7) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • Bachelor Honours degree in a cognate discipline; or
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience.

  All applicants are required to have a Bachelor degree in a human bioscience area (including allied health, biomedical science, exercise and sports science, food science, health science, medicine, nursing, nutrition, pharmacy or science, or other relevant science-based degree as determined by the University) with a weighted average mark (WAM) of 65% or higher.

  The Bachelor degree must include Biochemistry and Human Physiology content, with Chemistry (0.25 EFTSL) followed by Biochemistry (0.25 EFTSL), and Human Biology (0.25 EFTSL) followed by Human Physiology (0.25 EFTSL).

  Academic admission requirements (Band 8) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • Bachelor degree in a cognate discipline; or
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience.

• International applicants are required to demonstrate English Language proficiency as specified in the current National Alliance of Self Regulating Health Professions. Internationally schooled applicants may also be required to meet this requirement.

  These requirements can be met through one of the following:

  • IELTS Academic with an overall minimum score of 7.0 and a minimum score of 7.0 in each of the four components (listening, reading, writing and speaking); or
  • Occupational English Test (OET) with a minimum score of B in each of the four components; or

  All applicants are required to be enrolled in the Bachelor of Speech Pathology and be invited to enrol in the Bachelor of Speech Pathology Honours based on their performance in the units across Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 of their undergraduate degree. Students are required to have achieved a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70 per cent or higher. .

Additionally, the acceptance of a student as a Honours candidate will depend on the discipline's supervisory expertise to guide the student on the topic of interest.

Entry into this course is talent-based, and prospective students will be comprehensively assessed through an audition process which is held in November-December each year. Australia-wide auditions are conducted in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Overseas students are assessed by auditions sent electronically.

  The audition includes a thorough assessment of inherent and trainable ability, the ability to meet the technical requirements of the course and suitability for the industry.

  All applicants are required to have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant science area i.e. Medicine, Medical Science, Biomedical Science, Health Science, Occupational Therapy, Occupational Health and Safety, Occupational Hygiene, Speech Pathology, Paramedicine, Physiotherapy, Exercise and Sports Science with a course Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65 or higher, with equivalents considered.

  Academic admission requirements (Band 8) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • Bachelor degree in a cognate discipline; or
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience.
