Entry into the DClinDent is on a competitive basis with places being offered to the highest ranked applicants as assessed by the Dental School. To be considered, ensure that you provide the following with your application:

  • Evidence of general dental qualification, including degree transcripts.

  • Dental Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Students must be registered to practice dentistry in Australia throughout the duration of the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry course. Applicants who do not hold AHPRA Dental Registration will be assessed by the Dental School regarding their eligibility for AHPRA Limited Registration to practice dentistry in Australia.
  • English language competency - this course has a
    higher level English language competency (ELC) requirement
    :

  • Evidence of current AHPRA Dental Registration will meet the ELC requirement for this course.
  • Applicants who do not hold current AHPRA Dental Registration can meet the ELC requirement via one of the following tests:
    • IELTS (Academic) with a minimum overall score of 7.0 and no band less than 7.0.
    • Pearson Test of English (PTE) (Academic) with an overall score of at least 65 and no sub-score less than 65.
    • TOEFL iBT with an overall score of at least 94, a minimum score of 23 in the Speaking band, 24 in the Listening and Reading bands, and 27 in the Writing band.

  • Curriculum Vitae showing dental experience. A minimum two years of professional experience as a general dentist is required, or the equivalent if there has been periods of part-time work.

  • Optional: advise whether you are intending to sit or have completed the Primary Examination for Fellowship or the MRACDS (GDP) for Membership of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, or equivalent, as recognised by UWA. Examples of exams that may be considered for equivalency are the MJDF Part 1, The Royal College of Surgeons of England or the MFDS Part 1, The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, or the MFD part 1 Examination of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

(1) To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have-
(1) an accredited bachelor's honours degree in psychology with at least an upper second class Honours (2A), or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia or the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council. The Honours degree in psychology must be completed within the past 10 years at the time of application or you must be provisionally or generally registered as a psychology with AHPRA at the time of application; and
(2) Applicants must be eligible for provisional registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. and
(3) Applicants must have secured PhD supervision, with at least one supervisor from the School of Psychological Science at the time of submitting their application.

  • have obtained an APAC-accredited honours degree (or equivalent) in Psychology, with a mark of IIA or higher, and
  • find a PhD supervisor who is an academic staff member of the School of Psychological Science who agrees to supervise you if you are offered a place in program, and agree on a basic outline of the research project you will undertake. You must have this supervisory agreement and outline of your PhD worked out prior to applying to the program. Start looking for a supervisor at least two to three months before the application is due.

Admission Requirements
(1) To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have-
(a) an accredited Master of Clinical Neuropsychology, or an accredited Doctor of Psychology (Clinical Neuropsychology), or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA;
and
(b) completed a thesis project in their Masters or Doctoral program with a content area relevant to the field of clinical psychology
(2) Applicants must be eligible for provisional registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, which includes meeting the Board's English language registration standard.

(b) two satisfactory referees, as recognised by UWA;

(c) a curriculum vitae summarising relevant occupational and practical experience, as recognised by UWA;

(d) an interview in which eligible applicants will be assessed on the personal qualities considered desirable in psychology with invitation to attend the interview based on 5.(a), (b), (c) and the interview quota for that year;
and
(e) the intake quota for that year
