Students will be admitted into the five-year veterinary course either directly from secondary school, or after completing at least one year of prior university study in a relevant (natural science-based) course. Students with prior university study in a relevant discipline may be granted advanced standing for the first year, and enter into second year of the course, commencing on-campus in January. Candidates are selected by a two-step process, with pre-interview ranking determining short-listing for interview and post-interview ranking determining offer of admission. Secondary school leavers are selected for interview on the following basis: * ATAR ranking or equivalent (70% weighting); * Performance in an online situational judgement test, Casper (30% weighting). Equity adjustments to ATAR to address educational disadvantage may be available (based on contextual statement and supporting evidence). Recommended Preparation: Chemistry ATAR is strongly recommended; Mathematics: Methods ATAR, Physics ATAR and Biology ATAR are also recommended. Australian and international students who have completed some tertiary study are selected for interview on the following criteria: * Overall and recent (last 12 months) academic performance (GPA) from previous university study (70% weighting); * Performance in an online situational judgement test, Casper (30% weighting). Tertiary applicants must evidence a minimum of 35 hours of veterinary -related experience for their application to be considered. Equity adjustments to GPA to address educational disadvantage may be available (based on contextual statement and supporting evidence).
