This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support. To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (The course includes all specialty units for Ageing and Disability) Duration – Days: 2 days a week (Wednesday / Friday for the next intake) – Total units: 14 units (7 core units + 3 Units Group A + 4 Units Group B) – Duration: 26 weeks / 6.5 months (2 weeks for one unit) without study break – Enrol and intake: every two weeks – Class time: Daytime 9:00- 3:00 pm – Work placement: 120 hours – Work placement venue: college will assist Pathway: This qualification provides a pathway to work in a diverse range of community and/or residential setting including people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other circumstances. Students completing this course are eligible to commence CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support.
