While I am in the doctorates program, my short-term objective is to engage in research to further expand my knowledge of engineering. After completion, my long-term goal is to stay in academia.

I studied my B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering at the Petroleum University of Technology, Iran. During my undergraduate program at PUT, I studied long hours and worked very hard to soak up all the knowledge I can, and tried to take advantage of the opportunities to work with the outstanding professors there. Knocking off my undergraduate studies did not end my unquenchable thirst for knowledge; consequently, I took the national chemical engineering M.Sc. entrance exam. I chose to continue my M.Sc. in chemical engineering-process design, at the University of Tehran. Based on my research background in chemistry, chemical engineering, and environmental engineering, I joined the Green Technology Laboratory (GTL) in University of Tehran. Professor Tavakoli is the head of the Laboratory, and the main focus of his lab is algal & bacterial engineering, wastewater treatment and sustainable energy. From fall 2015 to fall 2018, my work there was focused on the fields of photobioreactor design, optimization and algal engineering. For my M.Sc. thesis project, I constructed three semi-pilot scale photobioreactors using the most inexpensive and high-quality materials to make algal cell production economically feasible. Afterward, I conducted experiments on algal CO2 sequestration, nutrient removal, and lipid extraction and finally, optimized the process parameters.

I am aware that my academic goal is not yet achieved, and I need a great university to continue my research to reach the educational plateaus I desire. Curtin University is a world-renowned institution for its quality of the education and the opportunities to develop a full-fledged career in Engineering. The flexibility in the education system, the infrastructure, industry relevance, and technological expertise are a few factors influencing my decision to go for the graduate study in the Australia. I consider doctoral studies at the Curtin University as the next professional stepping stone in my career.

While I am in the doctorates program, my short-term objective is to engage in research to further expand my knowledge of engineering. After completion, my long-term goal is to stay in academia. I will seek to find a research or teaching position in an educational institution where I can share my passion and knowledge with other prospective students. I believe that the goal of education is improving life of others, helping the earth and leaving the world better than we found it.
