Subject to the duration of the course applicants usually require a Bachelor Degree or equivalent (and may require relevant work experience), Bachelor Honours Degree, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma.

Students may transfer to this course after successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Environment and Climate Emergency.

You're considered someone with work and life experience if:

You have left secondary education more than two years ago (i.e. who are not classified as recent secondary education applicants) and have not undertaken vocational education training (VET) or higher education study since then.

How we define 'experience'

'Experience' includes a combination of factors sufficient to demonstrate readiness for higher education such as mature-age entry, professional experience whether completion of the Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) is required or not, community involvement or work experience. Applicants may have undertaken non-formal programs that have helped prepare them for tertiary education or are relevant to the proposed higher education field of study.

You're considered someone who studied at TAFE or have done an apprenticeship if:

Applicants with vocational education and training (VET) study are those whose highest level of study since leaving secondary education is a VET course. This includes study at a public TAFE or other VET provider, whether a qualification was completed or not. Applicants with VET study may have other qualifications such as a Year 10 or Year 12 secondary school certificate.

Application Requirements

Admission to honours is by invitation and follows high achievement in an appropriate bachelor degree. Any specific course entry and completion criteria must also be met.

Other criteria:

• A bachelor degree in one of the Humanities honours majors, with a course weighted average of 65 or higher.
• All applicants must submit a two-page research proposal outlining the intended focus of the honours project or dissertation and demonstrating the capacity to undertake research at an honours level.

Credit for recognised learning (CRL): Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

The research proposal will be used to assess the capacity of the applicant to undertake an Honours level study and whether the faculty is able to provide appropriate supervision.

Admission criteria

A 3-year recognised Bachelor degree in Information Technology or Computational Science or Engineering with a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience or a 4-year degree in Information Technology or Computational Science or Engineering.

Applicants for the Master of Advanced Practice Degree (Coursework) are required to meet University academic and English language standards. Applicants will require a Bachelor Degree, Bachelor Honours Degree, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in their related field. Applicants must also hold three (3) years' experience in their related field post Bachelor degree. Enrolment can be full time or part time. Study plan can be negotiated. A part time study plan is essential for specialisations that are linked to employment.
