This is a rapidly growing area which offers a variety of career paths with a focus on global tourism and hospitality experience and industries. By introducing students to a range of managerial principles as well as their applications in situ in a diverse global learning environment of multiple Curtin campuses, the Global major provides students with the relevant knowledge and skills to become effective managers in tourism and hospitality and closely related sectors within Australia and overseas supported through authentic global learning. Students will for instance study contemporary issues in international tourism; discuss the sustainable management of tourism and hospitality in theory and practice; learn about the wider impacts of tourism and hospitality upon the local and global economy; and, also the role of marketing in these sectors. Students are required to study at a minimum of two Curtin global campuses to fulfil the requirements of this major.

This major can be studied in the Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Innovation, Bachelor of Advanced Commerce (Honours) or Bachelor of Arts.
