This course provides foundational knowledge and skills for entering the accounting field, covering topics like corporations law, cost behaviour, and financial accounting. Graduates can progress to the Master of Professional Accounting.
This qualification is intended to help you step into the field of accounting for the first time. It covers an introductory understanding of accounting and the budget process.
You'll study a range of specialised topics, including corporations law, cost behaviour, financial accounting, job order costing systems, management accounting, planning and special decision-making issues.
You'll also learn typical accounting applications such as billing, general ledger, inventory, purchasing and sales.
When you successfully complete this course, you can progress to the Master of Professional Accounting.
What you need in order to get into this course. There are different pathway options depending on your level of work and education experience.
A bachelor degree (or equivalent) in a field of study other than accounting, or significant relevant work experience (typically three to five years). Applicants must also meet Curtin's English language proficiency requirements.
