Overview

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and in recognition of the pivotal role Indigenous Knowledge Systems are playing in tackling our planet's most pressing environmental, social and governance (ESG) sustainability challenges, this course empowers students to step outside of the classroom as they develop foundational competencies in transdisciplinary innovation, regenerative thinking, project ideation, and community engagement. Delivered through a passion-informed, project-based curriculum that includes on-Country learning and an immersive regional internship, this course equips students across all disciplines with the expertise to leverage their degree to effectively address the distinct challenges and opportunities facing regional Western Australia, and actively contribute to meaningful regional change for people, species, and planet.

  • Demonstrate professional knowledge that reflects an understanding of the relevance of UN SDGs to regional industries and workplaces.
  • Demonstrate understanding of intercultural protocols and regional community contexts to build collaborative, consultative strength-based partnerships
  • Demonstrate culturally safe, appropriate and inclusive ways of communicating and collaborating with First Nations Peoples
  • Demonstrate professional engagement in continued professional learning, improving practice, professional responsibilities, meeting of ethical, intercultural, legislative, administrative and organisational requirements and positive relationships with colleagues, industry partners and the wider community.
  • Generate evidence of professional capability from the practical elements of the professional experience being undertaken, for the purpose of completing the performance assessment
