This double degree provides students with an exciting opportunity to pursue study and qualifications in both engineering and business innovation over a five and half year period, graduating with two bachelor degrees. In Innovation, students study a suite of core business management and innovation-related units aligned to the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the future of work, followed by a set of capstone "transformational experiences" that allow students to expand and apply their skills and knowledge in real world contexts. In Engineering, students can choose from a broad suite of majors after completing the Engineering pre-major (Engineering Foundation Year). Opportunities for global study tours, project units, and work integrated learning allow students to combine their learning from across the double degree. On exiting the degree, students should have strong interdisciplinary skills and knowledge, and the ability to participate in addressing the challenges of the 21st century.

  • Demonstrate a conceptual understanding of multidisciplinary knowledge including business, applied science, computing, and engineering.
  • Apply multidisciplinary knowledge, including underpinning science, engineering, and sustainability principles, to critically analyse and solve complex business, societal and industrial challenges using using creative and innovative thinking.
  • Design and implement solutions through safe, ethical, legal, innovative yet responsible and impactful decisions, and through respectful partnerships with indigenous and First Nations Peoples and other diverse cultures as globally responsible citizens.
  • Assess the available scientific and engineering knowledge and undertake applied research in the broad engineering field.
  • Employ technologies and knowledge to develop and communicate effective and innovative engineering solutions to complex problems that are appropriate for local, regional and global contexts.
  • Demonstrate industry-readiness by developing future-focussed capabilities including a global, responsible, innovative and technology (GRIT) mindset, lifelong learning habits, teamwork and leadership abilities, and project management skills.
