About this course

Overview

Step into the future of play and interactivity by combining Game Design and Art with Immersive User Experience Design. This double major gives you the chance to explore two complementary creative fields - designing engaging game environments and characters, while also shaping intuitive, human-centred digital experiences.

You'll learn how to design and animate 3D assets, develop game levels and mechanics, and apply principles of user experience and interface design. Alongside these technical skills, you'll experiment with immersive environments and mixed reality applications, gaining the tools to create digital worlds that are both visually compelling and highly usable.

At Curtin, you'll study in purpose-built creative spaces with access to cutting-edge technology such as VR/AR and motion capture equipment, game development software, and user experience labs. These facilities mirror professional studios, giving you the chance to collaborate across disciplines, test ideas with real users, and build a portfolio that demonstrates your creativity and industry readiness.
