The course provides scientific knowledge and business principles of agriculture, including soil, crop, and livestock management technologies, and offers hands-on experience through field trials and industry engagement.

Agribusiness also has a key role in addressing global challenges such as food security and farming systems under fluctuating markets, changing climates and shifting consumer demands.
In this course, you'll gain the scientific knowledge and business principles of agriculture and production system - including soil, crop and livestock management technologies.
Working individually and in teams, you'll learn how to apply problem-solving techniques to management strategies, and develop agribusiness risk management and farm management skills.
At Curtin's field trial site and glasshouse facility, you'll engage in research-led activities and self-directed experiments. You'll also be introduced to satellite-based technologies used in precision agriculture for crop, pasture and livestock management systems.
During your studies, you'll engage with industry experts and undertake field trips to research centres, agronomic field sites and farms. In addition, you'll complete 60 days of work experience with an agriculture research, production or business organisation in Australia or internationally.

Portfolio entry is available for those who can demonstrate equivalence to Curtin's ATAR entry through the submission of a portfolio that includes evidence of your academic achievements, qualifications and ability.

The certificate IV is the minimum requirement for university entry. It qualifies you for entry to Curtin courses with a 70 ATAR. You must also meet English language proficiency and check that you meet any extra subject prerequisites (where applicable).
If you're an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicant who hasn't met Curtin's minimum admissions criteria, the Centre for Aboriginal Studies offers bridging courses that are tailored to help you gain entry into this course.
The Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) is a national test for those who don't meet university admission criteria. STAT can be used to meet entry criteria for some courses, or as a way to satisfy Curtin's English proficiency requirements.
Written English and either Multiple Choice Verbal or Quantitative will be assessed.
