    Recognised Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7) or higher, or equivalent training, or satisfactory preparation for the course through previous study or professional experience. Some of the units taken assume some prior knowledge, details of which are given in the description of each unit in the Handbook. The most common of these is the high school Physics prerequisite for units such as Energy in Society, Energy Management, and Energy Systems. Some students may therefore need to complete additional prerequisite units.
    English Requirements

    You must meet a minimum standard in English to study at Murdoch, which for most courses can be demonstrated by providing evidence that you have completed Year 11 and 12 in Australia at any level if you are a domestic student, or through either English proficiency tests, university preparation courses, English language courses, previous tertiary study or vocational education.

    Other Requirements This course is available to external students anywhere in the world who wish to study off campus using on-line materials. Assistance is provided by tutors by telephone, email or the Internet. External students usually study part-time, completing the certificate over one year or more.

    To successfully apply for entry, you must be currently employed as an apprentice or trainee in the marine industry. We offer rolling enrolments, so you can start at any time.

    If you are enrolling in this course as part of an apprenticeship, you must have employment in the relevant industry before commencing the course.

    How Will I Be Selected?

    To be successfully enrolled, you must be currently employed as an apprentice or trainee in the marine industry.

    How Do I Apply?

    New apprentices and trainees will first need to be employed and signed up to a Contract of Training by an Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) provider, with Kangan Institute listed as the preferred provider. For locations visit australianapprenticeships.gov.au.
