Learn the Tools of the Trade

The Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology (AUR30316) course enables participants to gain skills in all aspects of the automotive electrical trade. This automotive course is the nationally recognised qualification for becoming an automotive electrician. The course covers health and safety, customer relations and using tools, repairing, servicing and testing all the elements of electrical systems.

If you are enrolling in this course as part of an apprenticeship, you must have employment in the relevant industry before commencing the course.

Apprenticeship: Block release is available. You will attend classes for one week approximately every 2 months. Monday
Thursday 8am - 4.30pm & Friday 8am - 12.15pm.

Non Apprentice: Programs will be customised to suit your requirements.

Can I Apply?

This course is available through the apprenticeship and traineeship pathway. You are eligible if you are employed or have been offered a new apprenticeship or traineeship in your chosen field. Also, it is recommended that you have satisfactory numeracy and literacy skills to undertake this course or are mature age and have sufficient work experience to successfully undertake the course. OR You may apply if you have satisfactorily completed VCE or an approved equivalent course and the satisfactory completion of the work requirements (eligibility to transfer); or are mature age and have sufficient work experience to successfully undertake the course. (Mature age is anyone over the age of 18 who has been out of full-time education for more than 12 months.)

How Will I Be Selected?

Apprentices - You must be currently employed as an apprentice/trainee in the respective field of specialisation.

Non-Apprentices - Will be considered once interviewed and industry experience is established.

How Do I Apply?

Apprentice/Trainees - You will need to have an employer and then contact an Australian Apprentice Support Network office to sign a training contract.
