Curtin University is pleased to offer eligible students our International Onshore Postgraduate Support Scholarship through the 2022 Curtin International Scholarships program. This scholarship is offered in support of the Australian Universities’ alumni and is available to students who are in Australia commencing a Master by coursework program at Curtin.

About this scholarship
The scheme is an Australian Government initiative seeking to support nurses, midwives and nursing or midwifery students undertaking a clinical placement within a hospital emergency department.

The maximum total value of the Scholarship is $23,000. 
Payments may be made for:
<ul><li>Travel.</li>
<li>Accommodation and living expenses only if a scholar is required to relocate from home to complete the placement</li>
<li>Loss of income, not available for undergraduate students</li>
<li>Supervision payment to the hosting hospital.</li>
</ul>Eligibility criteria
To be eligible to apply you must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident and meet one of the 
following criteria:
<ul><li>a postgraduate nursing or midwifery student undertaking a course in, or related to Emergency or critical care nursing</li>
<li>an undergraduate nursing or midwifery student enrolled in an accredited nursing or midwifery course that results in an entry level nursing or midwifery qualification</li>
<li>an enrolled nurse, registered nurse or midwife working in an emergency department who wishes to undertake a placement in a larger or more specialised emergency department.</li>
<li>an enrolled nurse, registered nurse or midwife who does not work in an emergency department but wishes to undertake a placement in an emergency department.</li>
</ul>This Scholarship can only be awarded once during a student's course of study. Current undergraduate or postgraduate NAHSSS scholarship holders are eligible to apply

A full scholarship includes for each and every awardee:
<ul><li>payment of their Rotary Club of Crawley membership fees,</li>
<li>Rotary International fees, and</li>
<li>the total cost of every breakfast meeting you attend in the first year of your award.</li>
</ul>Eligible courses
The scholarships are available to individuals with current or anticipated earnings under $60,000 (during the scholarship year), in one of the following areas.
<ul><li>Over 20 and Under 25 and:</li>
<li>A current university student</li>
<li>Grad student</li>
<li>PhD student</li>
<li>a person in their first full time job</li>
<li>young entrepreneur</li>
<li>young aspiring employees under 25 from the sponsoring company.</li>
</ul>Or:
<ul><li>have some type of disability</li>
<li>Are of Australian Indigenous descent</li>
<li>PhD student from a Third World Country</li>
</ul>
