About this course

The environment that a child grows up in can influence the person that they become. In our Certificate III in Early Childhood Education, we aim to teach our students the necessary skills needed to provide a nurturing and safe environment for children. This course will prepare you with the essential knowledge needed to ensure the health and safety of children, develop cultural competence, create and strengthen positive relationships with children, as well as being able to foster the holistic development and wellbeing of a child in early childhood.

WAIFS has also partnered with childcare centres in and around Perth to ensure that throughout our students study, they are able to put theory to practice by being immersed in a real life working environment.

*Please note all WAIFS courses are also offered via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

This course will be delivered and assessed via classroom delivery, simulated environments, work-based training, portfolios, presentations, knowledge questions, and written assessments.

Compulsory work-based training (WBT) forms part of this course. Students of this course should be physically able to undertake the requirements of WBT. Please refer to the unit details for specific requirements. As a minimum a student should be able to stand, move around and lift objects which may be heavy following work, health and safety practices.
