Regarded as an industry benchmark in Australia, the Bachelor of Communications & Media degree gives you a solid grounding in all aspects of communications and media, covering everything from traditional print journalism to digital media production. You can also tailor your degree to meet your particular interests in advertising, film and screen production or journalism.
Academic requirements for this program are outlined below. In addition, to be eligible for admission, all applicants need to satisfy minimum requirements outlined at admission requirements. These include those relating to age and English Language Proficiency. We also consider your application more broadly - your non-academic achievements (such as any previous leadership roles, volunteering, work, church and/or community involvement) as well as personal qualities - your aspirations and interests and your capacity to complete your chosen program.
Applicants with recent Secondary Education
Applicants with Higher Education Study
Applicants who have successfully completed subjects at another University, which are relevant to the selected program of study, may be eligible for Advanced Standing.

When you enrol in this program, you can expect to gain a thorough grounding in writing, media law and digital communications before moving onto your specialist area - whether that is advertising, film and screen production or journalism. As part of our commitment to creating job-ready graduates, the Bachelor of Communications & Media also offers a robust internship program, offering you placement opportunities in a number of media organisations, such as the ABC, SBS and the commercial television networks, plus a range of cultural and arts-related bodies across Australia.

Students must complete TWO (2) Communications and Media Elective courses and EIGHT (8) Elective courses which may be used to form a second Major or a Minor.
