About this course

By completing this Combined Bachelor's and Master's course you will graduate with both a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Sciences and a Master of Public Health. In your first three years you will complete the Sport Science, Exercise and Health Extended Major where you will learn to apply theoretical knowledge to develop and deliver exercise-based interventions for fitness, performance, and health and wellbeing. The award-winning work-integrated learning program will provide you with opportunities to integrate theoretical knowledge in real-world professional settings as well as to interact with professionals in the industry. The Sport Science, Exercise and Health major (MJD-SEHDM) in any course leading to a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Sciences or Bachelor of Philosophy is accredited by Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA). Graduates will be eligible to apply as an accredited exercise scientist. You will then complete a final year of postgraduate study in the Master of Public Health which will provide a foundation in the research disciplines of epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics and health promotion, as well as the broader social context in which public health programs are planned, delivered and evaluated. If you decide not to continue in the CBM you can exit after three years with a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Sciences (Advanced). Note that the Advanced Bachelor Degree is available only as a CBM exit award. It is not offered for direct enrolment and is not awarded on completion of the CBM.
