What you will learn

Students of the Undergraduate Certificate in Legal Studies learn how the legal system works, examine the role of judges, juries and lawyers, and they learn how to conduct legal research and to analyse critical legal issues. This certificate also helps students develop important skills in presenting information and arguments, and is a pathway to further study of higher awards, such as a Diploma or Bachelor degree.

Course structure

The Undergraduate Certificate in Legal Studies consists of four courses:

  • LAWS1000 Legal Research & Writing
  • LAWS1010 Legal Process & Statutory Interpretation
  • LAWS1020 Legal History or CORE1001 Logos I or CORE1002 Logos 2
  • LAWS2510 Criminal Law A

Please note that although this certificate is delivered wholly online, the Bachelor of Laws requires attendance on the Sydney or Fremantle campus.
