This qualification reflects the role of an individual working as a senior civil works designer or a paraprofessional designer, who supports professional engineers. They perform tasks that are broad, specialized,
complex and technical and include strategic areas and initiating activities.
They are responsible for the design of complex projects to ensure the implementation of the client's site
requirements and are required to demonstrate self-directed application of theoretical and technical knowledge
and initiate solutions to technical problems or management requirements.
This course covers broad civil construction managerial and project management competencies including
managing project procurements and quality, civil works design processes, and traffic management systems.

Pre-Enrolment Requirements
All students must complete a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) test prior to enrolment. The test assesses your foundational skills in learning, reading, writing, oral communication, and numeracy at ACSF Level 3. This test helps us identify if additional learning support is required
Graduates of this qualification will be able to develop high-level skills and knowledge in managing civil construction design projects. Graduates will;
Students will have the opportunity to use and learn computer-aided design (CAD) drawing software and equipment as part of this course. Students will also visit civil construction projects and sites as part of excursion plans and learn from industry experts (guest speakers) in application of design skills in real-word projects.
