Heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC) form an integral part of any commercial building construction and have a major impact on the built environment, human comfort and energy use. If you have an interest in this industry then the Diploma of Engineering – Technical (HVAC) is a great course to start your career in this expanding industry. During your studies, you will develop a number of skills including the ability to design and implement HVAC systems using thermodynamics principles, an understanding of psychometric processes and the principles of energy management. You will have opportunities to use building information modelling software, produce engineering drawings and understand the requirements of workplace health and safety. An IELTS score (academic) of 5.5 with no band score less than 5.0 or equivalent.
Completion of the equivalent to Australian Year 12 with a demonstrated proficiency in Maths at Year 11 level.
