Start your pathway to an exciting career in civil construction and urban planning. During this course you will develop skills to work autonomously to plan and determine the selection of equipment, and roles and techniques for site specific work designs to meet client's site requirements. You will demonstrate the application of a broad range of technical, managerial, coordination and planning skills.
Learn how to schedule and estimate construction tasks, calculate foundation and footing requirements, and manage a project schedule.
In addition, you will learn about structural requirements, local building and construction standards, codes and practices and structural mechanics. You will create detailed drafting, technical specifications, schedules, and bill of quantities for a building project.
An IELTS score (academic) of 6.0 with no band score less than 5.0 or equivalent.
Equivalent to Australian Year 12 with a pass in Year 11 Maths is required for entry into this course.
OR Completion of MEM30505 Certificate III in Engineering - Technical or MEM30522 Certificate III in Engineering - Technical is required for entry into this course.

To achieve this qualification, students must demonstrate competency in 20 units. These 20 are comprised of 0 core units and 20 elective units. Elective units listed below have been selected in consultation with industry.
Students who enrol into this qualification will be eligible for credit transfer of the units that they have already achieved.
