Advance your career helping children grow and develop in the early childhood education and care industry with this qualification. You will learn how to supervise volunteers and other staff, design and implement curriculum that meets the requirements of the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia and maintain compliance in other areas of service operations. Upon graduation you will find employment in centre-based care, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens.

During this course you will develop and utilise effective interpersonal and communication skills to establish relationships and work cooperatively with children, colleagues with families. You will gain the skills to establish and promote environments that facilitate children's health and safety. You will acquire skills in how to design, implement and evaluate curriculums, including routines, transitions and environments that facilitate all children's development, learning and wellbeing. In addition you will lead early childhood teams and oversee the implementation of compliant and ethical work practices.

As part of this qualification you will undertake work placement where you will be able to apply the skills and knowledge you have learned.

Entry requirements

  • An IELTS score (Academic) of 6.0 with no band score less than 6.0 or equivalent.
  • Completion of CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent) is required for entry into this course.
  • This course requires immunisations and/or proof of vaccination status before attending mandatory work placement. Costs and vaccine requirements may vary depending on your placement centre and/or doctor's fee schedule. Please follow instructions/advice provided to you during enrolment/orientation. You will not be able to complete your course if these requirements are not met.

Students who enrol into this qualification will be eligible for credit transfer of the units that they have already achieved.
