This course gives you the skills to prepare drawings, estimates and plans and liaise with architects, builders and contractors of residential single and double storey buildings. You will learn how to present and document building projects using both manual and computer-aided drafting techniques that are relevant to current industry trends and practices.
You will also gain an insight into building materials, construction methods, social and environmental aspects of residential construction projects and principles of passive solar and environmental design. This course also covers the rules and regulations for council approval and the theory, knowledge and practical skills required to gain the building permit for on-site construction of single and double story residential buildings.
