Continue your pathway into the vast world of website design and development with this qualification. More than ever, website designers are in demand as businesses and organisations continually improve their online presence and websites to reach their target audiences.

At the end of your studies, you will be involved in both the design and technical development of a website, designing and constructing web pages and creating the look and feel of the site. You will also learn about Cyber awareness, website security, digital layout techniques, UX Design and Web Apps. Technologies taught include the latest industry standard HTML5, CSS3, PHP, MySQL and JavaScript using a range of development tools. With your qualification you could find a career as an in-house designer or work in a design studio.

On completion of this course you can continue your study with the ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology (Back End Web Development) or the ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology (Front End Web Development).

Entry requirements

  • An IELTS score (academic) of 6.0 with no band score less than 5.0 or equivalent.

  • Equivalent to Australian Year 12.

  • OR Completion of ICT30120 Certificate III in Information Technology [Web Development] (AC15) OR Certificate III in Information Technology (BFF7) is required for entry into this course.

    To achieve this qualification, students must demonstrate competency in 20 units. These 20 are comprised of 7 core units and 13 elective units. Elective units listed below have been selected in consultation with industry.

    Students who enrol into this qualification will be eligible for credit transfer of the units that they have already achieved.
