Start your career in the fast growing information technology (IT) industry with this qualification. On completion of this course you will be competent in a range of general IT skills including support services, networking, programming and critical and creative thinking skills.

During your studies, there will be a general focus on skills such as hardware installation and maintenance, supporting PC operating systems, network operating system installations and management, Microsoft Office applications and documentation and information and communication technology (ICT) helpdesk skills.

On completion of this course, you can continue your study with the ICT40120 Certificate IV in Information Technology (Programming) or the ICT40120 Certificate IV in Information Technology (Networking).

Entry requirements

  • An IELTS score (academic) of 6.0 with no band score less than 5.0 or equivalent.

  • Completion of the equivalent of Australian Year 10.

    To achieve this qualification, students must demonstrate competency in 12 units. These 12 are comprised of 6 core units and 6 elective units. Elective units listed below have been selected in consultation with industry.

    Students who enrol into this qualification will be eligible for credit transfer of the units that they have already achieved.
