Kickstart your career in the animal industry and broaden your knowledge so you can provide the best care for companion animals. Get a wealth of hands on experience and be job ready to work in animal shelters, boarding kennels, pet stores and grooming salons.
You will learn the skills to work effectively with companion animals; monitor and maintain their health, nutrition, wellbeing, and perform animal first aid, grooming, and workplace safety and health. All of these skills will be utilised when you embark on a compulsory work placement, where you will undertake routine animal care procedures under the direction of a supervisor. There is also a simulated animal care practice on campus that you can access to practise these skills.
Students studying at the Bentley campus will be working with dogs, fish, mammals and reptiles. Students studying at the Murdoch campus will be mainly working with dogs and fish.
