In the ICT50220 – Diploma of Information Technology (Advanced Networking) students will be trained in the skills and knowledge needed to install and manage networks as an independent IT specialist or as part of a team. Students will learn how to install and administer Linux and Microsoft operating systems. Students will learn about installing and managing Microsoft servers using virtualisation technologies. The course also includes training on managing cybersecurity.

Students will be provided with access to CISCO Net Academy for an opportunity to prepare Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

Entry requirements

  • Successful completion of Year 12, equivalent or a higher qualification. Refer to the Australian Year 12 equivalence table. NIT may also accept you in this course if you have any other relevant qualifications, certifications and/or experience; and
  • Applicant must be 18 years or above before commencement of study at NIT; and
  • Overall IELTS band score of 5.5, with no band score less than 5.0 (or an equivalent score in another English Language Proficiency Test acceptable by NIT Australia). Refer to the Table of equivalent scores for other acceptable tests and certificates.
