In this course, you will be trained in the skills and knowledge needed to plan, design and administer Telecommunications and Information Technology IP networks as an independent specialist or as part of a team. You will learn how to install and administer network servers; design and manage IP based network/telecommunications equipment; develop project management plans for networking/telecommunications projects.

You will be provided with access to CISCO Net Academy for an opportunity to prepare Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

Entry requirements

  • Successful completion of Diploma level qualification in Telecommunications or Information Technology areas or minimum 2 years of experience in a technical or management role in Telecommunications or Information Technology; and
  • Applicant must be 18 years or above before commencement of study at NIT; and
  • Overall IELTS band score of 5.5, with no band score less than 5.0 (or an equivalent score in another English Language Proficiency Test acceptable by NIT Australia). Refer to the Table of equivalent scores for other acceptable tests and certificates.
