Our Murdoch University Preparation Course (MUPC) will help you to gain entry into the degree you want, even if you don’t currently meet the course entry requirements. We’re here to support you in your new direction. With three intakes per year and a variety of units, you can choose the timing and course structure that works best for you. At MIT, you get to experience life on Murdoch University campus while you transition into study.

After successfully completing your MUPC, you will gain direct entry into the first year of your chosen undergraduate degree at Murdoch University.

Australian Students

  • Completion of Australian Year 11 or Year 12 depending on duration.

International Students

Academic entry

  • International equivalent to completion of Year 11/12 requirements

English language requirements*

Students may apply for the MUPC if they meet the appropriate scores in one of the following assessments.

  • 60% or 65% pass in English for Academic Purposes
  • IELTS: 5.5 (no band below 5.0), or 6.0 (no band below 5.5)
  • General Certificate of Education GCE O Level (C or D minimum) in English Language and Literature; English Language
  • TOEFL
    • Paper-based – 527 or 534
    • IBT – 46 or 73
  • Pearson Test of English: 42 or 50
  • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): 162 or 169

Course structure

If you have successfully completed year 11/12 but didn’t get the best results, or you have received the international equivalent of completing year 11/12 and you meet the English entry requirements, then this is the right course for you. The MUPC course is an accelerated course made up of a minimum of four units, which may be completed over one, two or three trimesters.
