The world's population is ageing, with older members of the community forming a growing proportion of the total population. In response, this course will expand your skills in chronic conditions, dementia and end-of-life care for complex ageing populations.

The course will enhance your practise in modern health settings by providing evidence-based, safe, ethical, and professional treatment that complies with regulatory criteria. Additionally, this course will assist you in developing leadership skills and researching the scientific, psychological, and social elements of ageing.

The course is offered online and includes a requirement to work in aged care settings under supervision while studying the course.

Admissions Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing an applicant is required to:

  • Have completed a Bachelor of Nursing degree or an equivalent qualification
    • or 3 years Diploma of Nursing leading to Registered Nurses in home country having one year of work experience.
  • Be an AHPRA registered nurse; or
    • Be a registered nurse with the Nurses' Board/Council from the country of origin or place of residence
