Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing Specialisations: Emergency Nursing

This specialty course will prepare you to assess nursing needs for patients in emergency situations. Emergency nursing involves knowledge, confidence, and abilities to care for patients successfully.

The course promotes nurses to broaden their area of practise by focusing on the evaluation and nursing treatment of critically sick clients in acute care settings. Clinical reasoning abilities and evidence-based specialised nursing knowledge will be used to connect theoretical emergency care knowledge to current nursing practise.

The course is delivered online and includes a requirement to work in an emergency care environment under supervision for at least two days each week.

Emergency nurses work in diverse roles and places, including:

• Highly advanced emergency department
• Work as staff development nurse
• Clinical nurse specialist in Emergency departments
