About this course

In this course nurses will broaden their area of practise to prepare nurses to manage patients diagnosed with a brief but dangerous condition.

The course is specifically intended to help you improve your ability to manage an expanding number of patients with a range of diseases and with advanced study nursing needs in an acute care setting.

This course is offered online and includes a requirement to work in a critical care setting under supervision while studying the course for at least two days each week. The Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing - Acute Care Nursing will build on your current nursing knowledge to help you develop acute care nursing strategies and abilities. You will feel confident in your ability to utilise these strategies while caring for patients.

Admissions Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing an applicant is required to:

  • Have completed a Bachelor of Nursing degree or an equivalent qualification
    • or 3 years Diploma of Nursing leading to Registered Nurses in home country having one year of work experience.
  • Be an AHPRA registered nurse; or
    • Be a registered nurse with the Nurses' Board/Council from the country of origin or place of residence

English Language Proficiency Entry Requirements has to be met by the student
