In recognition of the increased prevalence of mental illness, the WA Government has increased expenditure for mental health services to expand the workforce and increase the number of hospital and community beds across the state. This means employment in a range of settings, such as mental health units and hospital emergency departments, community mental health centres, case management and outreach centres, private counselling or psychiatry practices, schools and government agencies, including rehab programs, and correctional facilities.
