This Graduate Certificate will introduce students to foundational programming, mathematical and statistical concepts which can be applied to large data sets to derive information to make high-level, data-driven decisions. The second term of this course includes a particular focus on marketing and social media applications of data analytic tools. The flexibility and insights offered by a data analytics skillset can be used for data driven change and problem solving across many business sectors.
Key learning outcomes include:
- Theoretical and technical knowledge of data analytic methods and tools.
- Analytical methods for extracting information and making decisions in a data-rich environment.
- The use of computer programming languages to generate data analytic algorithms.
- Understanding of the ethical, economic and social implications of data acquisition and use.
